  1. What are the requirements for the materials uploaded?

  Please upload the color scan(chromoscan) of all the required original documents. All documents of foreign languages have to(must) be uploaded with the corresponding translations. English documents can be translated by the employing unit(company) itself and stamped with the official seal of the unit. For other languages, documents have to(must) be translated by professional translation institutions and stamped with the official seal of the translation agency. (No translation is required for passports or other international travelling documents.)

  2. Where can I print the application form? What’s the requirement?

  The application form can be automatically generated from the attachment’s information. Color scan(Chromoscan) and upload the form with the unit(company)’s official seal and the applicant’s signature (consistent with that on the passport).

  3. What are the requirements for Work Qualification Certificate?

  The certificate should be issued by the applicant’s previous company, which should include work position, work duration, or the projects that have been completed. The certificate has to be stamped by the previous company or signed by the person in charge, while valid contact number or email address of the person in charge should be included. If a certificate of work experience in China is uploaded, the corresponding residence permit in China should also be uploaded. If the Work Qualification Certificate is accessed through email instead of the hard copy of the original document, please also submit a stamped statement that specifies the absence of original Work Qualification Certificate. Screenshots and translations of email records shall also be submitted. The unit(company) that sends the screenshots should be the one that issues the certificate.   4. What are the requirements for the highest academic certificate?

  If the certificate was issued by a foreign university, the degree should be certified by a Chinese embassy or consulate in the related country, an embassy or consulate of the related country in China, or an academic authentication institution in the Chinese mainland.

  If the certificate was issued in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the degree should be certified by an academic authentication institution in the Chinese mainland or notarized by the local notary office.

  If the certificate was issued by a university in the Chinese mainland, the degree should be certified online by China Credentials Verification (http://www.chsi.com.cn/).

  Foreign language teaching staff who teach a language that is not their native language must be approved by the academic authentication institutions in the Chinese mainland.

  Overseas professional qualification certificates should be certified by a Chinese embassy or consulate in the related country or the related country’s embassy or consulate in China, or notarized by a notary office. If the professional qualifications are issued in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the original certificates shall be notarized by a local notary office. Pledge system can be adopted for outstanding young talents and A-Class talents whose score exceeds 85 points. (Please refer to the guide on the official website for details.)

  5. What are the requirements for Certificate of No Criminal Record?

  The certificate should be issued by the police, security, court, etc. of the applicant’s home country or country of residence, and should be certified by an embassy or consulate of China or by a foreign embassy or consulate in China.

  If the certificate is issued by Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan, it should be notarized by the local notary office.

  The country of residence refers to the last country where the applicant has lived for more than one year after they left their home country. Certificates of no criminal record should be issued within the last six months. If the Certificate of No Criminal Record of a third-party country is to be provided, the proof of residence in the third-party country (e.g. visa) has to be submitted as well.

  Pledge system can be adopted for foreign high-end talents (A-Class). (Please refer to the guide on the official website for details.)

  6. If the applicant is a legal representative/supervisor/chief representative/shareholder, is the employment contract needed to be provided? Will a dispatch letter work?

  For those whose working post is company staff, please upload the employment contract. The contract should contain information such as workplace, work position, job description, work duration, income level, stamp and signature, etc.;

  Business license may be uploaded for those whose work position is legal representative.

  For those whose work position is director, shareholder or supervisor, please upload documents such as articles of association, letter of appointment, or employment contract;

  For those whose work position is general representative or chief representative of a representative office, please upload the representative certificate.

  The dispatch letter applies to senior management, and professional and technical staff sent from their headquarters to branches in China, and the letter should be issued by the company headquarters or regional headquarters. If the senior management and professional and technical staff are sent from the headquarters to branches in China, please provide the dispatch letter and the employment contract signed at the headquarters, together with documents that prove the relations between these companies if a dispatch letter is adopted for the labor relations.

  7. What is a letter of guarantee for overage foreigners? What’s the requirement?

  The letter of guarantee for overage foreigners is a document required when you apply for Work Permit for foreigners over 60 years old. The letter should include unit(company) profile, the necessity of employing the expert, the unit(company)’s awareness of the overage, purchase of medical insurance and provision of a good living environment for the expert, stamped with the official seal.

  8. When should the letter of salary commitment be issued? What’s the requirement?

  Letter of salary commitment is a document required when the foreign applicant applies for Work Permit based on their salary or points, the content of which should include income level, etc. During application for an extension or cancellation, personal income proof, such as duty-paid proof or bank account statement, of the applicant in the last year shall be submitted, signed by the applicant and stamped by the unit(company).
